I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
